  1. Stop the source. Close the fixture's shut-off valve. If you can't find the leak, close the main—usually at the street-side meter box or where the line enters the house.
  2. Kill power to the wet area. Flip the breaker for affected rooms if water is near outlets, appliances, or the panel. Never stand in water to do it.
  3. Stay out of dirty water. Sewage backups and outdoor floodwater are Category 3. No bare skin, no household vacuums, no kids or pets.
  4. Document before you touch anything. Wide shots, close-ups, and a short video with the date. Your claim starts here.
  5. Lift what you can. Rugs, electronics, and boxes off the floor; foil or wood blocks under furniture legs.

  • Burst and frozen pipes

    Winter Storm Uri in February 2021 split supply lines in thousands of Austin homes, most of them in attics and exterior walls. A frozen-pipe loss usually means saturated insulation and ceilings on the water's way down.

  • Slab leaks

    Much of Austin sits on expansive clay that swells and shrinks with the seasons, stressing supply and drain lines under the slab. Warm spots on the floor, a spiking water bill, or damp baseboards with no visible source are the tells.

  • Flash flooding and storm intrusion

  1. Call and dispatch

    One number, answered 24/7. We ask about the source, how long it's been wet, and what the water touched; tell you what to do until we arrive; and give you an arrival window.

  2. Inspection and moisture mapping

    A Certified Master Inspector leads the walkthrough. Thermal imaging, pin and pinless moisture meters, and hygrometers establish how far the water migrated—behind walls, under floors, into the ceiling below. We set a dry standard from unaffected materials, classify the loss (Category 1–3, Class 1–4), and photograph everything.

  3. Extraction

    Every gallon pulled out is a gallon we don't have to evaporate. Truck-mount and portable extractors, weighted extraction on carpet and pad, and standing-water removal before any drying equipment goes in.

  4. Controlled removal and treatment

    Materials that can't be dried to standard—saturated pad, wet insulation, swollen MDF, Category 3–contaminated drywall—come out. Flood cuts follow the moisture map, not the whole wall. Affected surfaces get an EPA-registered antimicrobial.

  5. Structural drying and daily monitoring

    Air movers, low-grain refrigerant dehumidifiers, and where needed desiccants or wall-cavity drying systems. We come back daily, log readings, and reposition equipment until every material meets its dry standard. Then, and only then, the equipment leaves.

Water follows framing, wiring, and gravity into places nobody looks. An InterNACHI Certified Master Inspector reads the house the way an adjuster reads a claim—where the water went, what it passed through, and what was already wrong before it got there.

  • Sudden and accidental discharge: burst pipes, failed supply lines, appliance and water-heater failures, overflows.
  • The drying, the removal, and the rebuild to pre-loss condition—subject to your policy, deductible, and limits.

Usually not covered, or needs an endorsement

  • Flood from rising surface water. That's a separate NFIP or private flood policy.
  • Long-term seepage, gradual leaks, and deferred maintenance.
  • Sewer and drain backup, unless you carry the endorsement.

  • You choose your contractor. A carrier's "preferred vendor" is a suggestion, not a requirement.

Clean water doesn't stay clean. Category 1 becomes 2, then 3, as it sits in a warm Austin house, and mold can start on wet drywall and framing within 24–48 hours—one more reason the clock matters.

How fast can you get to my property?

We dispatch around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and we give you an arrival window on the first call rather than a slogan. While you wait, stop the source and document everything—those two things matter more than anything we can do from the truck.

How long does water damage restoration take?

Drying most residential losses takes three to five days of monitored equipment time; Class 4 materials like hardwood and plaster can take longer. The rebuild is scheduled once every material meets its dry standard and your adjuster has approved the scope. You get a written timeline after the inspection, updated with each day's readings.

Will my homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Usually, if the cause was sudden and accidental. Usually not, if it was flood from rising water, a long-term leak, or deferred maintenance—and sewer backup often needs an endorsement. We document the loss in the format carriers use and meet your adjuster on site, but coverage decisions come from your policy, not from us.

Do I have to use the restoration company my insurer recommends?

No. In Texas you choose your contractor. Preferred-vendor programs exist for the carrier's convenience; you're entitled to hire an independent company, and your claim is handled the same way.

Can you do the repairs, or do I need a second contractor?

We do both. Extraction, drying, and reconstruction are one scope with one point of contact, and because we're also a remodeling company, you can fold upgrades into the rebuild with the insurance-covered work and the improvements priced separately.

Can't I just dry it with fans?

For a small, clean-water spill on tile you caught immediately, maybe. For anything that reached drywall, baseboards, cabinet toe-kicks, or subfloor, household fans move air but don't remove moisture from the room, and the water you can't see is the problem—it's where mold starts. An inspection costs a fraction of finding out in six months.

Can I stay in my home during drying?

Often yes for Category 1 and 2 losses. The equipment is loud and runs continuously, and we close off rooms where material is being removed. Category 3 losses and larger jobs sometimes mean a short move-out; if your policy includes additional living expenses, that is typically what it's for.
